We offer a limited repair service for VDO & Jaeger ( VDO movement ) Electronic Speedos...
E.g. The most common fault with these units is that the MILEAGE RECORDER ( distance recorder )
stops working i.e. The SPEED RECORDER continues to work ok ... The fault is normally a plastic
gear that breaks ( see picture @ top right hand side )... Should you wish to check for yourself you will
find that it is the gear driven by the stepper motor... Should this be the problem you have a choice
‘A’... We will supply you with the correct gear* required ( for you to fit yourself )... @ £45 incl p&p
‘B’... We will supply & fit the gear for you... @ £90 + p&p OR fit your ‘own gear’... @ £50 + p&p
‘C’... We will check your unit to confirm that a broken gear is the problem @ £25 + p&p
* Please forward the old gear for identification as several types are fitted... or count the number of teeth...
This is a combined 2 level gear ( example 20 teeth lower level & 30 teeth top level )
